The first forest kindergarten in the Berg community will open in March 2022. It will have 18 places and will be called “Bergkinder Nature Kindergarten”.

Berg - Behind the privately initiated project are two women of very different ages who, according to their own statements, work in perfect harmony and have educational experience: the 29-year-old educator Robin Sue Neininger and the 55-year-old Waldorf teacher Uli Stock.

Neininger has lived in Berg for two years, Stock followed her there - because the two of them got along so well in Nuremberg. Stock had founded a Waldorf kindergarten there. It went splendidly, according to Neininger, the women were celebrated by their parents as a “dream team”. Because Neininger's husband moved to Munich for work, the successful project ended for her. Reason enough for the young woman to pursue a similar concept in Berg. In a small, manageable piece of forest on Biberkorstrasse in the direction of the Montessori school, the "mountain children" should discover nature. "Movement creates knowledge", Neininger calls one of the basic ideas of the concept. "The children should feel that they are in good hands, it should be very familiar," she says.

The future kindergarten directors have already purchased a trailer, which is currently being set up.

The mountain children then find a real so-called shelter, for example in storms, at the neighboring TSV Höhenrain, as Neininger reports.

A “rhythmic, natural and wholesome” everyday life for the children

The operators want to offer the children a “rhythmic, natural and wholesome routine”.

This gives them orientation and security to develop individually and to develop freely in the community.

“In order to ensure physical and mental well-being from within, organic nutrition is of great value to us.

That is why we cook twice a day, vegetarian, for the mountain children.

We play, sing and dance in the open air in harmony with nature, ”says the concept, which can be found in the parents' information.

The facility is intended for three to seven year olds and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. from March.

Care from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. costs 250 euros per month.

Parents pay 300 euros until 2 p.m., 50 euros a month for breakfast and 100 euros for lunch.

The two women have a long-term goal. They want to buy a house in which and around which kindergarten life takes place - in order to "create a home where many little people feel safe and secure". Neininger doesn't like the idea that nobody comes in six weeks of summer vacation. She wants to establish an authentic place where children are not just given away and employed. The facility should feel like a big family. Speaking of family: "Three places are already taken," says Robin Sue Neininger and laughs. Because she thinks of her own three boys who are one, three and five years old.

The municipality of Berg is satisfied with the current childcare situation.

"Our waiting list is empty," says the executive officer Erich Fiedler.

Two children from Münsing have now been admitted to the Höhenrainer Kinderhaus.

This is perfectly fine for the Berg community because the waiting list was empty and Berger children are also looked after in Münsingen facilities.

The day care on Postgasse in Berg was also well received.

All seats there are now taken.

The situation in the Aufkirchner kindergarten, where a group was closed due to lack of staff, has not yet changed.

Personnel wanted

The Naturkindergarten Bergkinder is looking for staff to support the educational team.

Interested parties can send an email to post@naturkindergarten-bergkinder.de or to the mobile number (0 15 75) 215 91 22.
