Annick Girardin, Minister of the Sea, has no illusions.

When she was appointed to her post in July 2020, she knew that France could not save all of its fishermen when the negotiations for the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union had been completed.

Last week, she is the guest of the Assises de la Pêche which are held in Saint-Pol-de-Léon, in Brittany.

The eleventh annual meeting of the profession which takes place this year in the midst of the sector's crisis.

And the 400 listeners gathered, including representatives of the 9,687 metropolitan fishermen (figures for 2020), came to hear what to expect.
