Wolfratshausen - Around 100 firefighters have moved into the Wolfratshausen industrial park. There a wood chip plant was about to catch fire.
On Thursday (November 25th) around nine o'clock an attentive caretaker of a company building located on Hans-Urmiller-Ring noticed rising smoke.
This stepped out of the company's wood chip plant.
The screw conveyor in the Wolfratshausen industrial park is running hot
The alarmed fire brigades quickly discovered that the screw conveyor of the wood chip system had overheated and had made the pellets glow.
"Not much was missing when the fire broke out," reports the Wolfratshausen police station.
Thanks to the fire brigade's rapid fire fighting operations, the smoldering and smoking wood chips could be extinguished quickly.
There were currently around 200 people in the office building.
"Fortunately, an evacuation could be avoided," emphasizes Wolfratshausen's Deputy Police Chief Christina Loy.

In addition to the Wolfratshausen police, around 100 workers from the Wolfratshausen, Weidach, Geretsried and Gelting fire departments were on site.
In addition, an emergency doctor, several paramedics and members of the disaster control of the district.
The police estimate the property damage to the screw conveyor at around 5,000 euros.
After an hour and a half, the scene of the fire was cleared again by the police and fire brigade thanks to the rapid intervention of all rescue workers.
