Playwright Joan Jean, in his new work (Adventure in the City of the Future), addresses the child through the puppet theater, addressing a number of concepts related to the social relations and love that must unite the members of the same society.

The show, directed by Nadim Suleiman and presented on the stage of the puppet theater in Damascus, begins with a story that mixed reality with fantasy. The two children who starred in the show, whose mother has a serious illness, tell them that the medicine is located in a place called Future City, 100 years away from us.

When the two children arrive in that city after many adventures, they are shocked by the behavior of its people, far from love and brotherhood, and their preoccupation with conflicts among themselves, and their preference for technology over direct social relations, where they are exposed to a series of situations and problems.

The show, which was distinguished by a remarkable voice performance, drew laughter on the children's faces, and was narrated to the audience by the artist Jamal Nassar.

Writer Joanne Jean explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the work comes within his continuous attempts through his theatrical works to create fun for the child in the first place, in addition to sending a message to him.

Jan indicated that the age group to which the text is directed is between 6 and 12 years, noting that the child, despite being exposed to technology and development, still has nostalgia for the story and the story.

And about his upcoming works, he pointed out that he is preparing for a theater production for adults that will be shown soon, entitled (A Tale from a Country), directed by Suhail Al-Oqla.

The characters of the play were performed by the artists Mamoun Al-Rifai, Muhammad Khair Abu Hassoun, Tamader Ghanem, Adel Abu Hassoun, Taj Al-Din Dhaif Allah, Razan Al-Raz, Shadi Jan and Rand Abbas, while the puppeteers were the artists Tamader Ghanem, Iman Omar, Randa Al-Shams, Ayham Al-Jikli, Issam Hamdan and Alma Nasser.

The musical composition for the show was placed by the artist Ayman Zerkan, and the songs were by the poet Issa Al-Najjar and performed by Ghada Omar.
