Good news for innings athletes

Mayor Werner Röslmair had already bitten his teeth on property owners in Inningen. It almost seemed as if his successor in office, Walter Bleimaier, would suffer the same fate. After years of negotiations, however, he has now been able to secure sufficient space for the community so that a long-cherished wish of the SV Innings can come true: The sports grounds at the Schorn can be expanded. There is currently only one small downer, 5700 square meters in size. Maybe this can still be cleaned up.

- “Everything that comes is better than what we have,” says Helmut Gall. Since this summer he has been chairman of the sports club with around 900 members. In the football department, from the youngest in the G-youth to the men, they train hard in twelve teams. Nine teams are children and young people. However, the training is currently being held at two locations - on the Schorn and on the old, sloping square on the sports path. Since there is no floodlight system on the Schorn and games sometimes take place on Friday evenings, the Inningers have to rent a room in Hechendorf or Breitbrunn. That is why there has long been a desire for a second playing field at the Schorn. The athletes could be sure of the support of the community. So far, the property owners have been shooting across the street.

Röslmair had wanted to buy space in the southern area of the sports grounds, but bit its teeth. When Bleimaier succeeded him, he only continued to negotiate in the south. But also without success. When an opportunity arose in the north, Bleimaier took action there. As is well known, these negotiations resulted in a huge disappointment. "The negotiations lasted four years, we made generous offers and were ultimately just fooled," he said in the last annual meeting with the Starnberger Merkur. Bleimaier had to reschedule, ended up in the south again - and this time was successful. Eight out of nine landowners have now sold.

The available area is 4.7 hectares. That is basically enough to accommodate all sports facilities. As reported, tennis courts and beach volleyball courts also have to be relocated because a large supermarket is to be built at their current location. “As you can see from the plan, however, the two football pitches required cannot be accommodated in this way,” says Bleimaier. An extension would be possible, but only to the north, whereby the Schornstrasse would then have to be swiveled. The effort would be much greater and more expensive. "That is why it would be so important to still acquire the remaining space," says the mayor.

It's about 5700 square meters.

"Not 15 meters wide," says Gall.

But in the middle of the sports area, no farmer could do anything with the strip.

The club chairman is happy about any solution, but the big inclusive strip "would be fantastic" and, given the many children and young people in the club, is also a solution for the future.
