In view of the sharp increase in the number of corona infections, including among children and adolescents, the Greens in the state parliament are calling for nationwide vaccination offers for schoolchildren of all age groups - including elementary school students - before Christmas.
On the last days of school before the holidays there will be a nationwide vaccination rally, said parliamentary group leader Andreas Schwarz and the spokesman for education, Thomas Poreski, on Friday.
Stuttgart - “We have to get the children and their families safe and healthy over the holidays.
That means: giving children the first dose of vaccine and adolescents with the second dose before the presents are given, ”they said.
Initially, the "Süddeutsche Zeitung" reported on it.
The Greens are planning a large-scale campaign from December 20th to 23rd.
Vaccination buses and mobile vaccination teams should be able to set up their infrastructure in and at the school, for example in school parking lots and schoolyards, but also in auditoriums, music halls and sports halls.
Older schoolchildren could be called in to help build the necessary infrastructure.
Parents and school staff should also be able to be vaccinated.
“We also have an eye on the age group of five to eleven year olds,” said Schwarz and Poreski.
A recommendation from the Standing Vaccination Commission is not necessary for vaccinating this group.
"Vaccinations are already possible without official approval and are carried out by individual doctors."

The general practitioner association in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania sees itself in a position to quickly administer the booster vaccinations against Covid-19, which are recommended for seniors over 70 years of age.
Across the country, around 1,300 general practitioners and specialists take part in the corona vaccinations.
“With 280,000 people in this age group, that would be around 220 per practice.
It's easy to do, ”said the regional association chairman Stefan Zutz on Thursday.
