More and more countries are tightening their entry rules again due to the corona pandemic.
In the meantime, however, vaccinated people are also affected by the strict measures.
Bulgaria is known among holidaymakers for its golden sands, among other things, but even in winter you can usually spend a nice wellness or skiing holiday * here.
For tourists from some countries, this is now only possible under stricter corona rules.
Bulgaria has put 14 countries on the “red list” of risk areas - including Germany, Austria, Poland, Denmark and Switzerland.
Bulgaria has strict corona rules - even for those who have been vaccinated
Due to this
classification as a risk area
, entry from the affected countries is obliged to provide evidence of a negative PCR test - in
addition to the vaccination certificate, proof of recovery or negative antigen test
, which is a maximum of 48 hours old, as the Federal Foreign Office informs.
The test result of the PCR test must not be more than 72 hours ago.
This is the only way travelers can avoid the quarantine obligation.
Children under the age of twelve are exempt from this rule.

Entrants from countries that are classified as "orange" are still allowed to enter with proof of vaccination, convalescence or antigen test.
There is no need for an additional PCR test.
Those returning from Bulgaria must also observe the rules
Since Bulgaria is also a risk area from the perspective of the federal government, holidaymakers must also observe stricter rules when returning to Germany.
On the one hand, the
digital entry registration is
necessary, on the other hand, a 3G proof must be provided.
Anyone who has not been vaccinated or has not recovered must be quarantined for at least five days after entering the country, and free testing is possible on the fifth day.
For children under the age of twelve, the quarantine ends automatically after five days - even without a new test.
