Memmingerberg - According to information available to us, an Air Force aircraft will land at Allgäu Airport in Memmingerberg at around 2 p.m. today (Friday, November 26th).
Reason for the special flight: Corona intensive care patients are supposed to be relocated to other clinics with free capacities.
Around 2 p.m., the Federal Air Force's MedEvac machine is supposed to land at the airport in Memmingerberg to take in Covid patients from the region.
The plane is scheduled to leave the airport at 4.30 p.m.
The machine, an Airbus A310 equipped as a “flying intensive care unit”, can accommodate up to six patients.
It is not yet known whether and how many patients from Swabia or the Allgäu will go on board.
Soldiers in the hospital
Members of the German Armed Forces are also currently deployed at the Memmingen Clinic.
According to information from the clinic's press office, there are six male Bundeswehr employees who support the clinic staff with admission control, contact tracking and Covid testing of employees.
The deployment of the six Bundeswehr soldiers began on Wednesday and is guaranteed until December 15, but with the option of extending the deployment time should this be necessary.
