Oberau / Eschenlohe - In the course of the implementation of the “Radschnellweg Loisachtal” project, the existing farm road between the municipalities of Oberau and Eschenlohe west of the Loisach was expanded and paved by the Weilheim State Building Authority.
With the gap in the existing cycle path connection between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Murnau, everyday and excursion cycle traffic is now safely conducted parallel to the heavily frequented B 2 federal road. The approximately 5.2 km long farm road was widened in places in coordination with the municipalities of Oberau and Eschenlohe and the Weilheim water management office and paved over a width of 3.0 m.
After a construction period of around eight weeks, the new cycle path was opened for use on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
The construction costs of around 400,000 euros will be borne by the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Weilheim State Building Authority would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved, especially the affected municipalities of Oberau and Eschenlohe, the Weilheim water management authority, the residents and the construction company responsible for the good cooperation and the smooth implementation of the project.
