The commission for urban design is to deal with the plans of the Rotterdam architecture firm MVRDV on December 7th.

Real Estate ”from Hamburg and“ ehret + klein ”from Starnberg acquired the property on Candidplatz in the summer.
Where there are now dark, dreary buildings, surrounded by the high bridge of the Mittlerer Ring, Candidstrasse and Pilgersheimer Strasse, the area is to be opened up and further developed.

The owners want to preserve the qualities of the existing building, but also want to create a public space with the further developed, lively ensemble, with attractive lounge areas, quiet and green inner courtyards and activity zones for a social and integrative meeting place.
The existing green spaces on the edge of the Isar slope are to be taken up, the supply function of the location strengthened and new positive impulses to be set.

The structure of the buildings built in 1984 is largely worth preserving, which is why 70 percent of the existing structure is retained in the presented design.
Six buildings will be integrated into the new concept.
The front three buildings in the direction of Candidplatz give way to a 60 meter high building.
In the future, the area will continue to function as a district provider, as a doctor and office building as well as for medical services.
