The Planegger ice miracle opens.

2G plus is hot, a maximum of 100 people are allowed on the ice at the same time.

The decision is also controversial in the ranks of the local council.

"It is irresponsible," says councilor and doctor Dr.

Cornelia David (FWD).

Planegg

- After a one-year break, the Planegger Eiswunder will open its doors again on Friday, December 3, at 2 p.m.

On Thursday evening, the municipal council decided this in a non-public meeting.

“We discussed for a long time,” says Angelika Lawo (gG21).

She is a teacher at the Feodor-Lynen-Gymnasium (FLG), in front of whose door the ice miracle takes place.

She voted for it, she says.

However, your suggestion would have been to open the ice miracle only to groups due to the current infection situation, for example school classes or the FLG's ice hockey course.

“I see that children urgently need exercise.” They should be able to let off steam in the fresh air.

Mayor finds opening problematic

According to Planegg's mayor Hermann Nafziger, after a conversation with the new operator of the ice miracle on Friday afternoon, things will turn out differently than Lawo had imagined.

Nafziger, who says that the decision for the ice miracle is difficult, explains that 2G plus applies on the ice.

“We are only allowed to drive at 25 percent load.” This would allow around 100 people to hit the ice at the same time.

"The operator has the confidence to control everything," says Nafziger.

Lawo finds the concept difficult.

In school, children from different classes should not be mixed because of the corona.

“That's where I see the conflict.” In addition, too few tests are currently available to implement 2G plus.

Nafziger does not accept this argument: “Test stations are being built again.” And there is still a test station in Neuried.

Dr. Cornelia David recognizes further problems. “I have raised my concerns. You have to bow to the vote, ”she says dejectedly. “I can't understand the decision. This is a suicide mission. ”From an infectious point of view, the opening is extremely questionable. “The intensive care units are full.” If a child falls on the ice rink and suffers a broken shoulder or a traumatic brain injury, it will be difficult to get a place in the hospital. Her son works in the children's clinic at the Augsburg University Hospital. “He says it's crazy.” Until the end, David hoped that the operator would say that he couldn't meet the legal requirements. That hope was dashed on Friday afternoon.

Nafziger, who himself feels uncomfortable because of the "sheer mass of infections", is divided.

He can also gain something from the ice miracle: "It gives a little hope in these gloomy times."
