The construction costs only know one direction: upwards.

This is also noticeable in the planned new construction of the Murnau fire station.

The budget draft for 2022 speaks of just under 11 million euros.

Murnau

- There is currently no shortage of larger projects in Murnau. In addition to the new daycare center, the new construction of a fire brigade equipment house should be mentioned in particular. It is to be realized on the old fairground in the next few years. The planning is progressing. An architectural competition is to take place in the coming year. It is a million dollar project. How expensive it will be exactly has not yet been determined. So far, eight million euros had been assumed. In the combing department, however, the sum has now been corrected upwards. The budget draft for 2022 speaks of just under 11 million euros. This was discussed in the meeting of the municipal council. Market builder Klaus Tworek spoke of the "curse of numbers". You can only reliably say the sumif a draft is available and an architectural office submits a cost estimate.

But we haven't got that far yet.

To date, there is no specific preliminary design coordinated with the space program derived from the fire brigade requirement plan, says Annika Röttinger, press spokeswoman in the town hall.

“Accordingly, there is still no suitable cost estimate.” The previous assumptions are based on projects from the wider area, which are comparable in terms of magnitude.

Increase by 15 to 20 percent

Currently, however, the construction costs are going up significantly. "Experts speak of an increase of 15 to 20 percent," says Röttinger. It is well known that contaminated sites also have to be disposed of. There used to be a landfill at the old fairground. To date, the cost of waste has been budgeted for 1.5 million euros. The total is based on an expert opinion from 2019. "Here, too, a corresponding increase in costs can be assumed," explains Röttinger.

Michael Hosp (CSU), fire brigade officer and ex-commander, is aware of the situation: “The construction costs have skyrocketed and things are not getting any better.

That's a problem.

If you had built three years ago, it would have been a lot cheaper. ”But it's just political decisions about what to do and when.

Hosp had repeatedly insisted that construction finally be started.

Because: “We are bursting at the seams.

It is time to act. "

Hosp hopes for a vision

The room program is currently being drawn up.

Hosp: "We hope that the whole thing will be done with a certain foresight." This does not seem to have been the case with the previous construction on the Viehmarktplatz.

"When you moved in, it was already too small again."
