Upper Isar Valley - properly cleaned up and thus contributed to active environmental protection, the eleven-member youth group of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district fishing club with their youth leader Andreas Wittig and the six young fishermen of the Mittenwald fishing club with youth leader Johannes Mittermeier in their joint "Ramadama" campaign around the Krün reservoir.

Various car sheet metal parts, lots of plastic and glass bottles, styrofoam, some “hiking rubbish”, a large jumping ball, two planted flower pots and a number of plastic sheets had piled up. “I even found an umbrella stand”, wondered Maxi Schaidhammer (14) from Eschenlohe, “I wonder what he's doing here”. Luis Körner (11) from Mittenwald was also amazed at his finds. "Why do dog owners dispose of their dog walking bags here in the recreation area and don't take them home and what do an umbrella stand and an oil canister do here in the forest?"

The district office, which had been informed beforehand, had assured the hard-working garbage collectors that they would be disposed of free of charge.

“We wanted to show our young fishermen during this campaign,” stressed Wittig, “that we have to be careful with our nature”.

Youth leader Mittermeier wanted "that our boys not only learn to fish, but also get to know the care and maintenance of our waters".

A total of 17 young fishermen and six adults took part in the collection campaign.
