The five offices in the Mainland include the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Beijing, the Shanghai Economic and Trade Office, the Chengdu Economic and Trade Office, the Guangdong Economic and Trade Office, and the Wuhan Economic and Trade Office.
Under the new measures, eligible SAR passport applicants who hold a valid Hong Kong permanent identity card can submit their first application or renewal of SAR passport through the above-mentioned mainland offices, or by post, drop in, in person, via Submit their application to the Hong Kong Immigration Department via the Internet or the Immigration Department’s mobile application.
When applying for renewal of the Document of Identity for Visa Purposes, eligible applicants in the Mainland can submit the exchange application in person through the Mainland office or post the application to the Travel Documents and Nationality (Application) Section of the Hong Kong Immigration Department.
Both the SAR passport and the Document of Identity for Visa Purposes can be picked up at the Immigration Section of any office in the Mainland.
As for the application for re-entry permit, eligible applicants in the Mainland can exchange applications for re-entry permit in person through the Immigration Section of the Mainland office, and authorize a Hong Kong consultant to work in the selected Hong Kong Immigration Department The office will pay the application fee and collect the re-entry permit.
