The Palestinian Foreign Ministry affirmed that the continuous occupation aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque is organized terrorism and a violation of the relevant UN laws, in an attempt to change the historical and legal reality that exists not only in the mosque, but throughout occupied Jerusalem, with the aim of eliminating any chance of establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the spokesman for the people of Silwan town in occupied Jerusalem, Fakhri Abu Diab, explained that the occupation plans to expand the southern area of ​​Al-Buraq Square, especially from the southern side of the Al-Mughrabi Bridge, which begins in Al-Buraq Square and ends at the Al-Mughrabi Gate that leads into Al-Aqsa Mosque, which settlers use in their daily incursions. The mosque and the occupation prevents Palestinians from entering it.

Abu Diab indicated that the scheme extends over an area of ​​950 square meters from the Mughrabi hill to the Mughrabi Gate in the Old City wall of Jerusalem, with the aim of increasing the number of settlers during their storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and closing the mosque and changing its features, architectural style and Arab-Islamic identity.

Abu Diab pointed out that the occupation is continuing excavations at the bottom and surroundings of Al-Aqsa, which will have serious repercussions as it causes cracks in the structure of the mosque, its foundations, and its walls. From his plan to Judaize Al-Aqsa, as he tries to attach the settlement outposts to the walls of the mosque, in preparation for imposing a fait accompli that would enable him to control the Temple Mount.

The Director of Al-Quds International Center Hassan Khater indicated that the occupation plans to replace the current wooden bridge with a huge iron bridge with a length of more than 50 meters and a width of several meters in order to enter the mechanisms of the occupation forces during the storming of Al-Aqsa, which threatens to cover the western facade of the Islamic Museum located west of Al-Aqsa to the Umayyad palaces area and the adjacent wall The pulpit of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi in the mosque.

Khater stated that the occupation, after the completion of the construction of the bridge, plans to link five huge tunnels that meet at the bottom of Al-Buraq Square, stressing that this constitutes the greatest danger to Al-Aqsa, which will become besieged from all sides by the settlement outposts.

Director of the Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission, Murad Eshteiwi, said that the occupation’s attacks against Al-Aqsa do not stop at this point. Christianity and every inch of Palestine.
