Gilching's mayor Manfred Walter looks with concern at the personnel situation in the day-care centers.

In the worst case, he feared closings of individual groups, he said on Wednesday evening at the town hall meeting.

Gilching

- It was a manageable but very interested group that met on Wednesday evening in the event hall of the Gilching town hall. Almost 20 citizens accepted Mayor Manfred Walter's invitation to the first of two identically planned citizens' meetings. For almost exactly an hour and a half, Walter, treasurer Andreas Spörl and the board member of the municipal works, Klaus Drexler, provided information about the year ending and the coming year.

Finding one:

Gilching has "shrunk for the first time" this year, as Walter said. 19 470 inhabitants meant a decrease of 87 people. "We expected it, but not so quickly." The reason is the reduced construction activity. “We will level off at this level over the next few years. And that is also good for us. ”Walter only expects growth with the realization of the Gilching bald head, which will one day be home to 1,700 people. A workshop of the local council is planned for this coming February. The mayor does not expect construction to start until “four or five years from now”.

Finding two:

Gilching should iron out the corona dents in income from trade tax (13.1 million euros last year) and income tax (16.7 million euros) in the next two or three years.

“There is a very clear upward trend,” said Kämmerer Spörl.

Incidentally, the business tax income is distributed almost evenly across the business parks south, north and west as well as the rest of the municipality.

The East Business Park at the Porsche Center does not yet play a role.

Insight three:

The climate change will be obvious next year. On the A 96 near Geisenbrunn, the way has been paved for a large open-space photovoltaic system that will cover the electricity needs of 4,500 households and thus half of Gilching's population (we reported). Walter expects the system to go into operation in May. Work on the district heating network will also begin in 2022 - initially via the James Krüss Primary School and the southwestern part of Landsberger Straße, and in 2023 in the Starnberger Weg / town center area. "We will build massive," announced Walter. If you are lying along the corridor, you are welcome to join, said Gemeindewerke boss Drexler when asked by a resident. Walter hopes to be able to generate the district heating via geothermal energy. "If we can then build a wind turbine in the north (towards Schöngeising, editor's note),we would have a very good energy mix. "

Insight four:

The lack of skilled workers in the social field makes the community difficult. There are 218 crèche places, 784 kindergarten places, 320 after-school care places and 118 places in lunchtime care in Gilching. "That sounds like a lot, but it is always at the limit," said Walter. The forecast for 2025 lacks 66 crèche, 66 kindergarten and 186 after-school care places. The municipality subsidizes the care services with around 5.2 million euros - but it is becoming increasingly difficult to find staff. On the one hand, because Gilching, as a municipal employer, is strictly based on collective agreements and therefore does not pay any salaries above the collective bargaining agreement, and on the other hand, because supplementary workers such as former teachers or educational staff from abroad are often not recognized by the Free State. Possible consequence: "I am very concerned that we will have to close individual groups, because we don't have any staff, ”said Walter. The community is doing its best to find skilled workers, he replied to criticism from a mother. "But we often don't make it."

Finding five:

When it comes to traffic, the community will probably not be able to please everyone in the future either. The noise measurements between October 14th and November 4th along the enclosure of the A 96 showed that the requirements were "met". And as for the rebuilding of the Roman road, which a citizen asked about, it will take some time. Although he wanted to discuss a “first sketch” in the local council shortly, stating that the renovation was part of the mobility concept to be developed, the implementation would still take some time. Walter: “Construction will start in two to three years, not before,” said Walter. What is certain, however, is that the traffic in the area between the railway underpass and the Rossmann market will be throttled “most massively”.

Walter's 87-page report can be found on the community's website at www.gilchin-news.de.
