The traffic light has presented their coalition agreement.

The Green Bundestag member Karl Bär from Holzkirchen sees opportunities for the Oberland in this.

Holzkirchen / Berlin

- Karl Bär is optimistic: “The coalition agreement between the SPD, Greens and FDP is a new beginning,” announced the Holzkirchen member of the Green Party. He has looked at the 178-page contract, he writes and names a few projects that, in his opinion, offer special opportunities for the region. That is about the reform of the hospital financing. It opens up opportunities to maintain municipal hospitals in the region on a permanent basis, said the Green MP, who moved into the Bundestag a few weeks ago.

Investments in rail, electrification and digitization as well as the search for an infrastructure consensus would open up the opportunity to accelerate the mobility transition in the Oberland as well, to rethink pointless road construction projects and to expand the rail infrastructure.

In terms of road traffic law, the municipalities would have more leeway and could more easily make decisions about traffic calming on site.

Conversion of agriculture and energy self-sufficiency

Bär also takes a look at agriculture.

A large conversion program for animal husbandry opens up the opportunity to end the tethering of dairy cows by converting the stalls and not by giving up farms on a large scale.

Bär also sees positive things in the coalition agreement for the goal of an energy self-sufficient Oberland by 2035: the massive expansion of renewable energies with a focus on regional supply.

A new electricity market design is also an opportunity for the geothermal power plant in Holzkirchen to get real feed-in priority for clean electricity.

The coalition agreement does not describe all projects in detail, says Bär, but promises: "As a member of parliament in Berlin, I will work to ensure that these opportunities are used for our region."
