Damp road surface, cool temperatures: the road conditions were fatal for a VW driver on Friday morning in the Valley municipality.
As reported by the Holzkirchen police, there was a traffic accident on the district road MB 4 between Aschbach and Grub on Friday morning.
A driver apparently misjudged the road conditions.
At around 6.10 a.m., the 29-year-old from Feldkirchen-Westerham was driving his VW from Aschbach towards Holzkirchen.
In a stretch of road near Grub (Valley municipality), which runs through a wooded area, he came off the road and hit the guardrail with the right side of the vehicle.
In the further course he skidded across the lane and collided with the left side of the vehicle on the curb of the opposite lane.
Then he came to a stop on the right in a ditch.
The road surface was damp at the time of the accident.
The cause of the accident is likely to have been inadequate speed, reports the police.
Car had to be towed
The VW was severely damaged on the right side of the vehicle and slightly damaged on the left side of the vehicle.
The car was not ready to drive and had to be towed.
The guardrail was also slightly damaged.
According to the police, the property damage adds up to around 5500 euros.
The police informs road users of the seasonally changing road and weather conditions and asks them to equip their vehicles for winter operation and also to adapt their driving behavior.
