The community of Wörthsee has a new senior advisory board. In their meeting on Tuesday evening, the municipal councils elected four out of four candidates - with the proviso that in future four instead of three advisory councils will represent the interests of the elderly. According to the statutes, there are only three. But the four candidates all made such a qualified impression that the administration wants to contact the district office as soon as possible and ask whether the statutes can be changed at short notice.

Wörthsee

- First of all, however, the candidates introduced themselves. Brigitte Meyer and Ulrike Ziegler are tried and tested. You were already elected in October 2019, together with Andreas Koschlig, and got off to a great start. Then Corona came and thwarted the three completely. "We wanted and wanted and weren't allowed to," said Brigitte Meyer, whom many know from her commitment to SC Wörthsee, on whose board she was a long-time member. Ulrike Ziegler (72) only moved to Wörthsee three and a half years ago. She was and is active in the media sector and voluntarily supports the Marli Bossert Foundation of her daughter in Munich, which wants to give “people in their prime” a perspective. Andreas Koschlig, the third member of the group two years ago, resigned from his position.

There were two new applicants for this. The anesthetist and intensive care doctor Dr. Joachim Döffinger (68) is already involved with WörthseeAktiv and would like to work for better conditions for people in retirement. He wants to be a contact point for older citizens, bundle questions and interests, look for solutions "and promote the integration between old and young". Wolfgang Teschner also wants to get involved. The freelance journalist does not want to sit down and wait, “but rather actively approach the elderly”. One project is particularly close to his heart: He would like to see meeting places in the new district on Teilrain and also at the Kirchenwirt - also for senior citizens.

The local councils found it difficult to make a decision. The Advisory Councils Meyer and Ziegler had previously pleaded for four advisory councils to be admitted - and this was recorded in writing a long time ago in a letter to the administration. Florian Tyroller (Greens) welcomed the advance. “I think the four-person committee is ideal. It is inconvenient to say that someone is not allowed to play. "Thomas Ruckdäschel (CSU) also saw it this way:" If we have the luxury of four strong applicants, we shouldn't miss anything. "Branch manager Christa Heintel wanted to settle the point and first clarify the situation. Robert Wihan (FW), however, urged the election, "then the committee can start". The fourth candidate is then set. In the election, Meyer received twelve votes, Döffinger eleven, Taschner ten and Ziegler nine votes. The four of them just want to start working. Meyer: "We are in the starting blocks."
