The support for the student research center is a first big step that politics has taken here for future generations of students.

A comment from Merkur editor Dieter Dorby.

It is a vote that is impressive: the district committee and city council give a clear commitment to the student research center without any ifs or buts across factions.

Such a strong sign makes a lot seem possible for the project, which is even supposed to be accompanied by the Technical University of Munich.

In February 2014, the “Educational Region” seal of quality was once awarded - an act that was more due to the committed school building than to innovative learning concepts.

And even in the aftermath, it was not possible to refine educational content in the district so extraordinarily that the rating would be justified.

With the student research center initiated by Miesbach's former high school director Rainer Dlugosch, this is now possible - for all types of schools in the district.

The aim is to recognize talents at an early stage and to promote them individually, but also to arouse general interest in the natural sciences and make the students curious about it.

And not by means of gray textbook theory, but through fascinating experiences under scientific guidance.

It takes courage and imagination to embark on such an uncertain pioneering task.

It is always worthwhile.

In addition, a supporter has been found in Thomas Strüngmann who provides valuable financial start-up help.

All of these components together can significantly advance education in the district.
