On the occasion of the Syrian Culture Days held under the title (Culture, Authenticity and Renewal), the Cultural Center in Homs hosted the theatrical performance (Sugar Numbers), presented by artist Samer Abu Laila, in an interesting storyteller style, targeting the youth category.

The presentation, which was presented as part of a variety of activities, attended by a large number of children and parents, aims, according to Abu Laila, to enhance the importance of education and its importance in the future and work.

Regarding the rest of the activities presented by the Life Skills Team, Saba Wassouf, the team leader, told SANA that they included an exhibition that included paintings representing the heritage of Homs and its archaeological sites, and models made of cardboard and wood, in an effort by the Children’s Department in the Homs Culture Directorate to embody the celebration of culture days by consolidating and supporting the heritage aspect. And folkloric.

In turn, the artist Ahmed Ramadan Al-Ali, who supervises the training of children in the exhibition, pointed out that the participants also presented tools for ancient professions, such as the old spindles and various models, in addition to paintings of Damascene neighborhoods and archaeological sites in Homs such as Qantara and Sibat, and Umm al-Zinar Church is occupied with Ajami material.

The Nirvana Troupe also performed three popular and Levantine dance segments, titled (Yasmine Al-Sham), (Sharm Baram) and (Alyadi Al Yadi).

In a related context, the Children's Department of the Homs Culture Directorate organized this morning a march to Umm al-Zinar Church and the mosque of the companion Khaled bin Al-Walid, in which 50 children and young people from the sons of the martyrs and the youth team of the Directorate of Culture participated.

Aya Al-Saleem, supervisor of the children's department, explained the importance of informing children about these places to learn about their history and civilization and the most important landmarks that characterize their city, which in her opinion reflects positively on strengthening their belonging to their homeland.

In turn, Al-Yafa’ Al-Laith Al-Hayek indicated that the march provided a great benefit to the participants, especially that the Umm al-Zinar Church is famous for its unique architectural style, and the mosque of the Companion Khaled bin Al-Walid is one of the most important historical and religious monuments in Homs.
