Niederneuching

- Anika (15) and Simon Stimmer (16) gave their grandparents a very special Christmas present last year. The cousins from Niederneuching recorded a song together with musician Andi Starek. Everyone can listen to it starting this weekend - just in time for the first Advent, “Da Grandpa hot at a Christmas tree stand” and video will be online on the well-known music platforms.

Anika and Simon Stimmer have been Andi Starek's music students for a long time. They learn guitar from the Eichenried musician - Simon plays electric guitar, Anika plays classical guitar and bass, and the 15-year-old likes to sing well. A year ago they came to Starek's studio with the idea of giving grandma and grandpa a very special Christmas present: a song of their own. When asked what the grandpa was doing, the teenagers replied: “The hot one at the Christmas tree stand.” And for Starek it was clear: “This is a great song title.” Inspired by the stories of the two cousins, he wrote and composed the song , which was initially recorded semi-professionally.

Grandpa Hans (78) and Grandma Anna (79) were very happy under the Christmas tree when Anika and Simon performed the song.

"We were really amazed", says Hans Stimmer and his eyes still light up when he thinks back on it.

After all, you don't get such an extraordinary gift every year.

And his granddaughter reveals with a laugh: "The uncle then burned the song on CD, we gave it to them too, and it now runs up and down."

This year Starek has produced new Christmas carols for his children's music project Schlawindl.

“Since grandpa is hot at the Christmas tree stand”, he couldn't get it out of his head.

"The song turned out so beautiful and also so authentic because the story wasn't made up," says Starek.

So he decided to record the song again for radio use and label it as “Schlawindl feat.

Anika ”.

The professional recordings and the video shoot in Starek's studio were a first for the cousins. "It was really nice, even if you then see the video and know how it was made," enthuses the 15-year-old and is pleased to have had this opportunity. Simon thinks too. "That was a cool experience."

And because a real song also includes a music video, there were two days of shooting recently. One in the studio, the other - admittedly - at Hans Stimmer's authentic Christmas tree stand. There were also many of Starek's music students and their parents - "olle Freind", as the lyrics say. However, Anika and her grandfather play the main role in the clip that Chris Speda shot and which will be published on the Schlawindl YouTube channel punctually for the first Sunday in Advent. The song itself will be available on popular music platforms such as Spotify or Apple Music from Sunday.

"Since grandpa is hot at the Chistbaumstand, olle friend san do. Platzerl, mulled wine, chocolate hod a immer do ”, Anika sings together with Starek. And: "Since grandpa is a mad dog, nothing knocks him over so easily. And when he is at his desk, then know ma: the year is over. "

The family has been selling Christmas trees during Advent for a good 20 years. Son Andreas started it in 2000, and in the meantime Hans has taken over Stimmer, but the whole family helps out. The Nordmann firs and blue spruces in all sizes come from Untereuhausen near Landshut. Most of his customers would like the trees to come from Bavaria, says the 78-year-old, who has built up a loyal customer base over the years. Many people also associate buying a Christmas tree with a ratchet or a cup of mulled wine from the Stimmers. Grandma Anna refines it with apple juice and also makes sure that there is enough space - the children are especially happy about that.

The sale starts this year on December 1st.

The trees should be fresh when they are put up on Christmas Eve.

“We're always the last to get them,” says Hans Stimmer proudly.
