The traffickers of the Charcot city will have to put their business on hold for many months.

Tried in immediate appearance Thursday evening, after their arrests in October by investigators from the Cergy branch of the judicial police and the stup group of the Argenteuil police station (Val d'Oise), they all four sentenced to prison terms.

The traffic boss of the city Charcot, who led the delivery team, aged 29, was sentenced to four years in prison and kept in detention by the criminal court. In 2020, he was arrested with the sum of 30,000 euros from the sale of cannabis , with one of his delivery men again questioned. The latter was sentenced to 2 years in prison and incarcerated, just like a second apprehended delivery man who received one year firm and 6 months suspended probation. All three are also banned from staying in Argenteuil for three years, when they are released. They will also not have to hold a weapon for five years.The fourth and last defendant was sentenced to 18 months, including 6 months with a probationary suspension, but without a warrant of committal.

40 drug-related procedures opened in the neighborhood

The investigation by police officers from the PJ and Argenteuil dates back to last May.

Significant traffic had obviously settled again in this district of Val-d'Argent-sud, described as a historic point of sale.

Local police had opened nearly 40 drug-related proceedings there for about a year.

After five months of investigation, on October 17, 50 police officers from the PJ branch of Cergy, from the Argenteuil police station, assisted by reinforcements from the BRI and the DDSP 95 questioned the actors of this network.

At the owner's home, the police found in searches the sum of 24,000 euros and nearly 400 g of resin.

At his partner, an additional 7,000 euros were seized, probable result of trafficking.

Two days later, an accomplice was arrested in Eure-et-Loir.

At home, it was discovered a kilo of resin, nearly 8,000 euros in cash and a 9mm with its loaded magazine.

This regular purchaser of the network is the only one not to have been imprisoned by the court.

During this week of October, no less than 22 arrests had taken place in the Val-d'Oise as part of the fight against drug trafficking, a priority defined by the prosecutor Pierre Sennès, upon his arrival at the head of the Pontoise public prosecutor's office in September. Visiting Argenteuil on November 14, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin underlined the results obtained by the investigation services in Île-de-France in the fight against drugs. In the first ten months of the year, cannabis seizures increased by 20% compared to the same period last year, with 14 additional tons intercepted in the region. Seizures of cocaine rose by 80%, with an additional seven tonnes, those of heroin and ecstasy increasing by 35% and 17% respectively. The number of traffickers sent behind bars is also increasing significantly: since the start of the year, 9,732 people have been imprisoned for offenses related to drug trafficking in Île-de-France, an increase of 40%.Of the 3,952 deal points identified in France by the Interior at the end of 2020, 384 were "definitively eliminated", including 87 in Île-de-France, then assured Gérald Darmanin.
