British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today new measures to try to stop the spread of the new Omicron mutant of the emerging corona virus, after his country recorded two cases of the new strain.
And the British Reuters news agency quoted Johnson as saying in a press conference that we will ask anyone entering the United Kingdom to take a “PCR” test after his arrival in addition to self-isolation until the result is negative, stressing that it is time to intensify the campaigns for the booster vaccination dose.
Johnson added that people who had contact with people who tested positive for a suspected case of the Omicron mutant will have to self-isolate for 10 days, stressing that the government will tighten the rules for wearing masks.
Johnson is confident that this year's Christmas holiday season will be much better than last year when the government imposed a lockdown to try to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
And Britain, which occupies the fourth place in the list of countries affected by the emerging Corona virus, announced earlier today that it had detected two cases of the new Corona strain, Omicron, in the country, after it recorded 39,567 infections and 131 new deaths during the past 24 hours.
