Elections to fill a vacancy in the electoral district of Homs in the People's Assembly

Today, elections began in Homs to fill the vacant seat in the People’s Assembly for the constituency “A” of the governorate, which was occupied by Dr. Fadia Deeb before the issuance of a decree appointing her as an assistant to the Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Affairs and Scientific Research.

The head of the Judicial Subcommittee in Homs, Judge Ali Suleiman, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the number of candidates to fill the vacant seat in the governorate has reached 18 candidates distributed among 139 polling stations in the countryside and the city.

The judge indicated that the electoral process began at seven in the morning and ended at seven in the evening, unless it was extended by a decision of the High Elections Committee, and no violation has been received so far.
