Palmeiras is the holder of the Libertadores Cup for 2021. The
highlight of South American football came tonight (Saturday) with the Copa Libertadores final that brought together two Brazilian teams in the Uruguayan capital - Palmeiras and Flamengo - in a battle for the most important title this continent has to offer.
Raphael Viga's quick goal after just 5 minutes stunned the fans in Montevideo, giving the Palmeiras a 0: 1 advantage.
In the 72nd minute, Gabriel "Gabigol" Barbosa equalized for Flamengo, celebrated by taking off his shirt and was punished with a yellow card.
After no decision was reached in ninety minutes, we got another half hour in the Brazilian thriller.

The one who ultimately decided the match was Diverson, who took advantage of a terrible mistake in the Flamengo defense to set up a 1-2 draw in the 95th minute, and for the moment sent Palmeiras to celebrate a second straight win, and a third in the club's history.
The two finalists are the teams that have won the factory in the last two years.
Last year the Verdau defeated Santos in another Brazilian final, and now they are once again celebrating against an opponent from their country.
Despite the success of the teams from Brazil in recent years, the Argentine teams still have more wins in the cup overall - 25 of them have in their balance compared to 21 of the Brazilians.
