Pope Francis appointed Argentina's Minister of Economy, Martín Maximiliano Guzmán, as one of the new members of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

Pope Francis appointed Argentina's Minister of Economy, Martín Maximiliano Guzmán, as one of the new members of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

This was announced by the Holy See through a statement this Saturday.

Guzmán is originally from the La Plata region, Argentina and has served as Minister of Economy since December 2019.

The Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences is an organism of the Holy See that seeks to promote the study and progress of the economic, social, and political sciences, among others.
