BMS City Councilor Eva John suggested to the building committee to start talks with the district about whether they might get involved financially before the planned takeover of sponsorship.

Ludwig Jägerhuber (CSU) pointed out that the district levy would then probably rise again: "That’s left pocket, right pocket."

The planning status for “Component 5” presented by Christina Frei from the municipal building authority also provided a historical outline of how the renovation work that was now due had come about: In winter 2019, there was water damage to the installation of the sanitary rooms on the 1st floor given - the supply lines had to be shut off, the showers and toilets belonging to the upper sports hall could no longer be used. A basic investigation by commissioned planners then showed "in coordination with the student councils for sport and chemistry and the school management of the grammar school" that some existing structural defects, in particular with regard to fire protection, had to be remedied - according to the building authority, it emerged that various , "For school reasons" urgently required conversions and conversions, which had been carried out after a fire protection report from 2001, an updated fire protection concept had long since had to be drawn up.

Together with the necessary renewal of the sanitary pipes in "component 5", the floor plan in the basement and on the 1st upper floor was optimized (including a barrier-free sanitary area).

The floor and walls of the lower gymnasium, which was even approved as a “meeting place” in 1972, were also renovated in 1997 and 2005, but there is still a need for action here for noise protection reasons. In 2017 it was also found that "because of corroded supply lines to the radiators" both halls could no longer be heated, according to the building authority in its synopsis - the heating of the halls was then ensured via a temporary arrangement with air heaters General renovation to be replaced by radiant ceiling panels. When both halls are renovated (new floor, new acoustic ceiling with integrated lighting, renewed impact wall with equipment room doors and access doors), the administration estimates that there will be another 600,000 euros in pure construction costs per hall, for the mentioned fire protection measures 100,000 euros. As a precautionary measure, it points out that "price increases in the double-digit percentage range" can occur up to the time of the invitation to tender or the start of construction: The building committee unanimously recommended continuing the renovation measures mentioned. With the district as the designated material expense manager, they have been in "coordination talks" since August in order to generate the indispensable funding - the city could no longer have done the renovation of its high school on its own for a long time. Nevertheless, she has to hand over the school "swept clean", that is, without any renovation burdens. The building committee unanimously recommended continuing the aforementioned renovation measures.
