Emmering - More safety, better equality between motorists and cyclists, environmental protection and noise reduction - the reasons given by the Greens for their push for Tempo 30 in Emmering are diverse.

Overall, the demand should make the community more livable.

In the most recent meeting of the Building, Planning, Environment and Transport Committee, however, the plans got a serious blow. As the administration explains, the road traffic regulations do not allow a general speed limit of 30 kilometers per hour. According to the Lower Traffic Authority in the District Office, this is only possible in areas where there is a kindergarten or school, for example. However, this is not the case on Emmeringen streets, where the speed limit is 50.

One of the Greens' demands could be fulfilled.

In the future there should be more speed controls in the community.

Emmering is a member of the municipal traffic monitoring service, which also includes Germering, Olching, Puchheim, Eichenau, Grafrath and Herrsching.

The community of Gröbenzell has left this.

Mayor Stefan Floerecke (CSU) wants to secure their contingents for Emmering.

According to the administration, the police have no capacity for additional speed controls.
