Proud lines of ancient stones reappeared last summer from the belly of the Phoenician land, in the middle of Tire, Lebanon, some two millennia after being engulfed under the weight of the ages.
Pinkish columns, thick block walls, a few solid foundations and neat foundations;
unearthed by expert hands, these remains of a monumental Roman temple were excavated on the city's acropolis, thanks to the last international excavation campaign carried out in the center of the ancient metropolis of Phenicia.
A beautiful archaeological discovery that in no way veils the deep political and economic crisis that Lebanon is going through.
