The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed that there were casualties in a series of explosions that detonated today at a military factory in the city of Dzerzhinsky in the central Nizhny Novgorod region.
The TASS news agency quoted sources in the ministry as saying that several explosions occurred in the factory named after the revolutionary leader Yakov Sverdlov, following the activation of the fire alarm system, according to preliminary data.
The ministry pointed out the possibility of the presence of explosive materials in the factory, but the city administration announced that there is no danger currently.
Major Russian media reported that at least two workers were injured in the accident, according to preliminary data.
