Director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, described US allegations of a Russian invasion of Ukraine as nonsense.
Russia Today website quoted Naryshkin as saying, "These allegations are a malicious propaganda act by the US State Department... They have inflated a big bubble around this lie," noting that the goal behind this is to try to push the Kiev authorities to proceed with igniting the conflict that is taking place mainly in Donbass. .
Naryshkin stressed the need to maintain restraint by Russia and strengthen its defense capabilities.
