In mid-November of this year, the Hong Kong Institute of Public Opinion interviewed 1,011 Hong Kong residents aged 18 or over by telephone. On the contrary, 73% of the respondents who tend to be locals choose to go overseas, and only 22% want to go to the mainland; among the respondents who tend to be pro-democracy, 67% want to go overseas, and only a quarter choose to go to the mainland.
