The Public Opinion Research Institute cross-analyzed the data with the age and political orientation of the interviewees and found that in the two groups 35 to 54 and 55 or above, there are probably close to six adults who want to go to the mainland; and 18 to 34 Among the age group, 70% want to go overseas, and only 21% want to go to the mainland.

On the contrary, 73% of the respondents who tend to be locals choose to go overseas, and only 22% want to go to the mainland; among the respondents who tend to be pro-democracy, 67% want to go overseas, and only a quarter choose to go to the mainland.
