Puchheim - The photovoltaic system at the primary school at Gernerplatz can look back on a successful first year.
On October 12, 2020, the city of Puchheim put one of the largest photovoltaic systems in Puchheim on the roof of the primary school into operation.
On the flat roof, the photovoltaic modules with a total output of almost 100 kilowatts produce clean electricity for the school complex.
In the best case scenario, even surpluses can be fed into the power grid.
Now the climate protection officer of the city of Puchheim, Katharina Dietel, was able to take stock for the first time: Despite the mixed summer, a total of 100,540 kilowatt hours of solar power was generated in the first year of operation. The highest daily production with almost 726 kilowatt hours was reached on May 31st, the most productive month was June. "We are pleased that the system works so well and that the city of Puchheim is setting a good example here," says Dietel. "We can now look forward to at least 20 years of clean electricity without price increases."
The city of Puchheim will shortly be equipping further municipal buildings with photovoltaic systems and hopes that as many private homeowners as possible will also decide to take this step.
The installation of private photovoltaic systems is also financially supported as part of the city's energy-saving funding program.
There are guidelines and an application form for this on the municipal website at www.puchheim.de, search for “funding program”.
