"Criticism of him is unworthy and unfair" - disagreements on the left regarding Herzog's move:
Labor Party Secretary General Eran Hermoni tonight (Saturday) expressed support for President Yitzhak Herzog, who plans to visit the Patriarchate tomorrow and light the first Hanukkah candle.
"President of the State of Israel Yitzhak Herzog is a state figure and his decision to light a Hanukkah candle in the Cave of the Patriarchs, which has been a heritage site for the Jewish people for generations, is a natural decision," said Hermoni, who is ranked 11th on the Knesset election list.

The remarks were made after the severe attack on Herzog from three Meretz MKs - Musi Raz, Gabi Lasky and Michal Rosin.

It is sad that the president is putting her on top of his joy.
