If everything had gone according to plan, the town hall should have lost around one million euros in the first half of the year.

In fact, it was only 620,000 euros.

Germering - The development, which is surprising at first glance, is due to the pandemic, like so much at the moment.

Because according to city hall manager Medea Schmitt, the loss was only limited because the house had far fewer expenses than usual due to the lockdown at the beginning of the year.

In the works committee, Medea Schmitt summed this up as follows: “Low income contrasted with low expenditure.

The loss could be kept. "

Specifically, it looks like this: instead of taking in around 125,000 euros with events in the first half of the year, only around 6500 euros actually ended up in the box office - only three events were held in the first half of the year. In the first half of 2020, which was only half affected by Corona, things looked very different: At that time, around 200,000 euros were still taken from ticket sales.

There was a similar downward trend in the rental of the town hall rooms.

They actually wanted to earn around 192,000 euros here.

In fact, it was only 79,000 euros in the end.

Because the pandemic reappeared strongly in autumn after a short break in the summer, the town hall does not expect the situation to improve: "The target cannot be achieved in the second half of the year either," writes Schmitt in its report.

The Stadthallen manager described the current situation with rather gloomy words: "The implementation of the current pandemic requirements poses very big problems for us." Because of the maximum permissible 25 percent occupancy, events had to be postponed again that were too good for advance sales have run. But it is also difficult when the number of tickets sold allows it to be carried out. Because of the new rules for spacing in the hall, the seats have to be rearranged and reassigned.

Schmitt also looks rather black for the future.

On the day of the meeting, she received calls from agencies who want to postpone their events due to Corona.

Another lockdown cannot be ruled out either.

What will happen to the outstanding Christmas and New Year's Eve program, which is aimed primarily at families, is not foreseeable.
