The Sudanese army announced that it repelled an attack by the Ethiopian army and armed groups affiliated with it in the Barakat Noreen area in the east of the country.
The Sudanese army said in a statement on its website today, "Our forces working to secure the harvest in the Al-Fashqa Al-Soghra area in Barakat Noreen were attacked and attacked by groups of the Ethiopian army and militia aimed at intimidating farmers, sabotaging the harvest season and incursions into our lands."
The statement added, "Our forces valiantly confronted the attack and inflicted heavy losses on them in lives and equipment, and a number of martyrs fell to them," stressing that the Sudanese forces will continue to protect the country and defend its lands.
