The epidemiologist and chief medical officer in charge of England, Chris Whitty, warned that the new mutant of the Corona virus, "Omicron", may be able to some degree with resistance to vaccines against the virus.
"There is a reasonable chance that there is some degree of resistance to vaccines for this strain," Reuters quoted Witty as saying at a press conference.
Whitty noted that there is a lot of uncertainty about the new mutation, calling for the expansion of the use of booster vaccine doses for adults.
In this regard, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson suggested receiving a third dose of the anti-Corona vaccine to counter the new mutated strain.
The Omicron strain was first discovered in South Africa, followed by monitoring in a number of countries, including Belgium, Botswana, Britain and Italy, and the World Health Organization classified it as a "worrying" strain.
