It was discussed years ago, now the fountain field on the lower market square in Dorfen is actually to be built.
The pandemic committee unanimously decided to invest almost 380,000 euros.

80 percent come from the special funding program "Revitalize the inner city", which was launched because of the pandemic.
With dimensions of six by six meters, the fountain field forms the center of the square.
According to the concept of urban planner Martina Schneider, it should be a water feature that has no sublime elements.
Rather, jets of water should shoot up from flat plates.
When the pumps are off, a market can be held.
For events such as the Dorfen Beer War, the facility can also be completely built over with a stage.
New benches will be installed under the trees on the northern edge of the square.
On the other side in the south, mobile steel plant beds with integrated seating are to be set up.
Depending on the event, they can be used or removed.
At the eastern end of the square, just before the gate, there are high-backed benches that are also comfortable for older people.
For large events such as the Hemadlenz parade, the perennial bench elements can be removed.
With this planning, the “balancing act between multifunctional use and the visual enhancement of the square”, praised Mayor Grundner (CSU) in the meeting.
Martin Heilmeier (LDW) confessed that he was always skeptical.
But this water feature is actually an upgrade.
