On the occasion of the eighty-second anniversary of the crime of stripping Iskenderun from his mother country, Syria, which will take place tomorrow, an intellectual seminar was held for a group of media professionals and researchers entitled “Iskenderun is an Arab air, Syria’s identity and the source of religious tolerance.”

The journalist Imad Al-Daghli talked about the geographical importance of the brigade, indicating that its area is 4800 square kilometers and overlooks the Gulfs of Iskenderun and Al-Suwaydiyah in the northeastern corner of the Mediterranean, with a coastal strip in the middle, and the most important cities of Antioch and Arsuz. And a transportation crossing and an entrance to northern Syria.

Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sayed drew attention to the importance of the religious brigade, indicating that with the occupied city of Jerusalem, they represent the two most important centers of religious tolerance through its capital, the city of Antioch, which had its global contributions in spreading the teachings of Jesus Christ, pointing out that our country, Syria, since ancient times has carried the banner of tolerance, and archaeological finds were discovered in it. that.

The researcher and journalist Nabil Al-Bishani focused on the historical axis, indicating that the disarmament of the brigade took place in stages from 1920 to 1939, and a decision was issued by France to skin it as a reward for Turkey in return for its joining its side in the Second World War, violating the mandate agreement, which states that the mandatory state has no right to dispose of a lease or A division of the Syrian land in favor of a third party, calling for increased attention to the cause of the brigade and its defense until its liberation from the Turkish usurpers.

The symposium was moderated by the media personality Allam Abdel Hadi, who discussed the presence of the brigade in the Syrian memory and the creative figures it presented to the country.
