District - The team from the Allgäu / Swabia wish-wagon recently received an inquiry from a twelve-year-old boy: he had received a devastating diagnosis in July of this year. After six weeks of chemo and radiation, his condition was so stable that he could walk again, albeit at a slower pace. And now he had an ardent wish: he would love to see the location of his favorite series “Schloss Einstein”, walk through the sets and maybe even see his favorite actor Hermann from afar.
After a short and uncomplicated communication with the station KIKA in Erfurt, things started two weeks later.
In the car is the twelve-year-old passenger F. and his best friend.
Both very excited about what to expect.
The two mums and their little sister drove after them in the car.
During the trip, the boys introduced Gudrun to all the tragedies, love affairs and pranks in school life at the castle and introduced her to the series on DVDs.
When the wish-wagon arrived on the film set, they were received by the producer.
And Hermann was with her.
The little passenger's eyes shone!
At that moment the chemo and the desperation were forgotten.
His mother hadn't seen her son with a smile on his face for a long time.
Witness the filming
After a first walk around the location, the boys were finally allowed to visit the “boarding school”. For F. there was even a specially made picture of Hermann. Filming then started in the evening. It was an interesting experience for the boys to see how complex it is to shoot such a film. After an hour, however, it was all so cold that everyone longed for a warm place to warm up.
The next day we went to the school at "Schloss Einstein" with enthusiasm.
But at some point it was time to think about the long drive home.
Strengthened with fast food and with fond memories, the small troop of the wish-wagon arrived safely in southern Germany.
The boys weren't sad that this one-off excursion was now over, but rather reacted with verve and the aim of applying for an extra role in the series.
The ASB employees keep their fingers crossed for our young passenger that he will get it and that his vigor will carry him through the difficult time that lies ahead.
