At the cabinet meeting convened today (Sunday) the winds were blowing as the ministers discussed the new restrictions taken to deal with the Omicron variant.
During the discussion, high tones were recorded between the Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett and Minister Eli Avidar regarding the issue of GSS location.
Minister Avidar was heard saying during a cabinet meeting that Ronen Bar, head of the General Security Services, "fell in love with the GSS." In response, Bennett attacked Avidar and said:

After the prime minister addressed the minister, Avidar resented things and slapped Bennett: "I will say what I want."
Bennett once again stood up in defense of the GSS chief and slammed Avidar: "You will not discredit the GSS chief who does an excellent job."
As is well known, as part of the attempt to combat the spread of the virus, the GSS also entered the picture. Earlier today, the chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Gilad Karib, noted that there were concerns about using the GSS capabilities and asked for clarification regarding the move.

Dr. Elrai Price, who was present at the Knesset's Constitution Committee, addressed the issue and said that "there is no desire or purpose to use GSS IDPs as has been done in the past, but only for the variant, to identify random contacts that the person himself can not even tell about."
