Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister and head of the negotiating delegation in Vienna Ali Bagheri Kani reiterated his country's readiness for dialogue with the Four Plus One group on the basis of obtaining guarantees and verifying the other party's commitments to the terms of the nuclear agreement signed in 2015.

The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted Bagheri Kani as saying in a statement today that we entered the Vienna negotiations with a serious will to abolish the unjust and illegal embargo because it is the main objective of the negotiations, while the second goal is to facilitate the rights of the Iranian people to benefit from nuclear science, noting that the West does not seek to reach an agreement, but rather wants Get concessions from Iran.

Nuclear negotiations began in Vienna last April with the aim of returning the United States to the agreement and lifting American sanctions on Tehran in exchange for Iran's return to implementing its obligations under the agreement.

Bagheri Kani stressed that Iran is neither under military threat nor embargo, calling on the West not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

Over the past rounds, Iran expressed its seriousness to reach satisfactory results and stressed many points, the most important of which is the lifting of all US sanctions while obtaining US guarantees and pledges not to renege later on what will be agreed upon and refusing to link the agreement to any negotiations on other files related to its defense and regional policies.

It is noteworthy that the nuclear agreement was reached on July 14, 2015 in Vienna, after arduous negotiations that lasted for several years between Iran and the Five Plus One Group, but former US President Donald Trump announced on May 8, 2018, to withdraw from the agreement and return to the policy of imposing sanctions. On Iran, while the rest of the signatories stressed the need for the agreement to remain and adhere to it, given the international need it represents.
