A bang - and then immediately smoke: a house in Gaißach-Obergries was badly damaged in an explosion in the basement on Saturday evening.
The 65-year-old resident came to the hospital.

- An explosion and a subsequent fire kept the rescue workers in Gaißach-Obergries on their toes on Saturday evening.
As the police reported, the 65-year-old resident heard a bang in the basement at around 9.15 p.m., followed by smoke immediately.
When the man went into the basement, the smoke hit him immediately and spread throughout the house.
The heat pump dryer in the basement caught fire, according to the police.
The cause was probably a technical defect.
The fire brigades from Gaißach and Lenggries were alerted.
They removed the burning device and took care of the house, which was completely smoky.
The 65-year-old was taken to hospital on suspicion of smoke inhalation.
The property damage amounts to around 30,000 euros.
Use on Friday in Benediktbeuern
A mission ended more lightly on Friday evening in Benediktbeuern.
At around 11 p.m., a light fire broke out in a basement room on Am Roseneck, the police said.
He was quickly noticed by the 37-year-old resident.
According to the press report, the fire started on the wood stove in the inspection shaft.
This was presumably in an improper condition.
A door frame also began to burn, as did clothing stored nearby.
The fire brigade Benediktbeuern was able to extinguish the fire quickly, reports the police.
As a result, the basement was completely black and sooty.
There was property damage in the low four-digit range.
Nobody got hurt.
