Live broadcast from the discussion in the Constitution Committee
The Knesset's Constitution Committee convenes this morning (Sunday) for an emergency discussion to attack the government's decisions from last night, as part of the measures to block the entry of the South African variant, Omicron, into Israel.
The decisions that will be put to the vote are the inclusion of 50 countries in the list of red states, to which Israelis will be banned, except in exceptional cases that will have to be approved by the Exceptions Committee.
Another decision that will come up in the discussion is to extend the isolation days for vaccinated returnees from all countries to three days.
The returnees will perform a check-out on the plane as usual, and on the third day departure will be allowed subject to another negative check.
The discussion will also point to the obligation to isolate in a motel for returnees from red states until a negative result is obtained from the inspection at the airport.
They will then proceed to a week of home isolation, subject to further examination on the seventh day.

Another limitation that will come for approval is the mobile phone features of the verified for the new breed.
