Icy winter weather continues: hurricane-like gusts threaten - DWD with warning for all of Bavaria

Fresh snow every day, smoothness and icy temperatures: the weather in Bavaria remained very wintry over the next few days.

Particularly with motorists, great caution is required.

Munich - Just in time for the first Advent on Sunday morning, delicate, white snowflakes fall from the sky in some regions in the Free State.

But the winter weather also has its downsides: The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a warning for all of Bavaria for Sunday, November 28th - there is a risk of slipperiness.

According to the meteorologists, up to five centimeters of fresh snow falls by noon in the Alps and in the southeast, and up to ten centimeters in the Berchtesgaden Alps.

But the DWD also warns of slippery roads in the rest of the regions in Bavaria.

A look up into the sky shows: the mornings often start overcast, and it is snowing above all in the Alps and in the south-east.

By noon at the latest, snow and snow showers spread to the other regions.

It remains cold in winter, with temperatures between minus one and a maximum of three degrees.

The same goes for the start of the new week: On Monday night, another five centimeters of fresh snow falls on the Alps.

The morning then begins in the Free State with lots of clouds and snow showers.

According to the DWD, it can be slippery again due to slush and freezing moisture.

Heavy snowfall has been announced for Tuesday morning.

This turns into sleet in many places during the day.

It should then be really windy in the evening: especially for the mountainous region, the meteorologists are predicting sometimes heavy storms, on high alpine peaks there is even a threat of hurricane-like gusts - snow drifts included.

Winter has definitely arrived in the Free State.

If this continues in the next few weeks, the chances of a white Christmas are anything but bad.
