The reality of the cultivation of wheat and barley crops in Al-Hasakah Governorate witnessed an improvement after the recent rains, as the area of the farm to date exceeded 100 thousand hectares distributed in various areas of agricultural stability.
The head of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Eng. Jalal Bilal, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the rainfall that pervaded various parts of the governorate during the past week contributed to a relative improvement in increasing the areas planted with the two crops and encouraged farmers to plant their lands, pointing out that the area planted with irrigated wheat reached 25,200 hectares. Rainfed wheat is 36,850 hectares, the area under irrigated barley is 5,850 hectares, and rainfed barley is 32,680 hectares.
The governorate's farmers continue to grow wheat and barley crops, usually until the end of this year.
