The Russian ambassador to Britain, Andrei Kelin, considered that the possibility of a military escalation between his country and the West on the eastern borders was a possibility, stressing the need to work to prevent it from happening.
During an interview today with the British Radio Times, Keelen said, "There is a danger of war due to miscalculation on our eastern borders, and this is the last thing we want and this kind of escalation should be prevented if it happens."
"At the same time, the risks are not as serious as the Cold War, as Russia has expressed to its Western partners concrete proposals on the military line and how this can be achieved," Keelen added.
He pointed to the need to continue negotiations between the concerned parties to stop this escalation, and said, "There are proposals from our side, but they must be analyzed and an answer given, but unfortunately we have not received any response."
On the other hand, the Russian ambassador reiterated that his country is not planning a military invasion of Ukraine, noting at the same time the high risks of war breaking out in this country due to the instability on the line of contact in Donbass.
