New Zealand MP Anne Genter climbed her cargo bike early on Sunday in labor pains.
Her destination was the hospital - an hour later she gave birth there.
“Great news,” the transport politician wrote on Facebook a few hours later.
“At 3:04 am we welcomed the newest member of our family.
I hadn't planned on going into labor, but it turned out that way. ”Before the ride, she'd felt contractions every two to three minutes, but not particularly strong.
They only got more intense in the hospital.
"Fantastic we now have a healthy, happy little thing that sleeps - like her father," said Genter, who was born in the US and moved to New Zealand in 2006.
In 2018 she rode her bike to the hospital to give birth to her first child.
New Zealand is known for down-to-earth politicians.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern gained sympathy around the world when she took parental leave during her tenure.
She brought her three-month-old baby to a United Nations meeting because she was breastfeeding.
