The Dutch health department "The Netherlands Institute of Health" (RIVM) issued a statement on the 27th that the authorities assumed that some passengers who tested positive for the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) were infected with the Omicron variant virus.
An RIVM spokesperson said that it is "almost certain" that these cases belong to the new variant virus Omicron, but further testing is needed to confirm.
